Frequently Asked Questions

The questions we actually get asked, answered without the hedging.

If yours is not here, call (725) 353-3493 or send it through. More detail on individual jobs is on the services page.

Services and Scheduling

What services do you offer?

Rock design and turf conversion, tree and palm trimming including palm shaving, irrigation and drip repair, sprinkler removal, drainage correction, yard clean-ups and scheduled maintenance. Details for each are on the services page.

How often should my yard be serviced?

It depends what is actually in it. A mostly-rock yard with a few desert shrubs may only need attention every few weeks. A property with turf and ornamentals in the growing season generally wants weekly or fortnightly visits. We will tell you which yours is rather than defaulting to the most frequent option.

Do you charge for an estimate?

No. We come and look at the property and give you a fixed price. Almost nothing in landscaping can be quoted accurately without seeing it.

Desert Conversion and Water

Should I convert my grass to desert landscaping?

If the grass is ornamental and nobody walks on it, usually yes — it cuts water use permanently and southern Nevada has been phasing that kind of turf out for years. If you have children or dogs using the lawn, that is a different conversation and we will not push you into it.

Are there rebates for removing grass?

Rebates for removing non-functional turf have been available in the valley for some time. The rate changes, so confirm the current figure directly with the water authority rather than relying on a contractor's quote — including ours.

Trees, Irrigation and Coverage

How often do palms need trimming?

Generally once a year. Left longer, the dead frond skirt becomes a fire risk and a home for rats and scorpions. Palm shaving is a separate finish job that cleans the old boot bases off the trunk.

Why does my drip system keep failing?

Three usual causes here: UV degrading the surface tubing, hard-water mineral clogging the emitters, and a system that was never moved after the planting changed. All three are repairable and none of them mean the whole system needs replacing.

Do you work in Henderson and North Las Vegas?

Yes — we cover Las Vegas, Henderson, North Las Vegas, Summerlin, Spring Valley, Enterprise and Paradise. Outside that, call and ask rather than assuming.

Still Unsure?

Have a look at the finished work, read more about how we operate, or check the terms covering quotes and scheduling. Either way the next step is the same: we come and look at the yard.
